Blooming This Week ~ Hydrangeas & Hollyhocks

Mid-June and my garden is full of flowers!

Have a peek...

This hydrangea is so pretty and a nice welcome home by the front porch.

Pink coneflowers and daisies surround a barberry.

A lonely ruffled edge daylily.

A volunteer pink hollyhock blooms way out
back in the "natural" part of my yard.

A black hollyhock blooms next to the fennel.

A volunteer sunflower blooms near the bird feeders.

Lovely lavender!

Blooming This Week ~ Hydrangeas & More!

There's no surprise this week, the hydrangeas are blooming! So wonderful, to go from peonies one week to hydrangeas the next. Nature could not have performed any better this year. That's not all that's blooming in the garden...

Stunning color combo!
Large flowered deep yellow daylily with dark weigela leaves.

Shasta daisies & Rum Punch Coreopsis

Butterfly bush blooming behind the daisies and garden bench.

Love this potted color combo of lime and purple!

On to the hydrangeas...

Turning pink!

This is the third year for this bush next to the front steps.

It's covered in luscious pink blooms!

Hydrangeas on one side of the walk, lavender on the other...divine!

Blooming This Week ~ A Variety & A Surprise!

While peonies were the focal point in my garden for the last couple of weeks,
other flowers were blooming too

Daylilies near my antique glass garden orb.

Rum Punch  Coreopsis...can't wait to see this full of blooms!

I bought this old concrete kitty at the flea market in honor
of the garden pooper who passed away last December.

The white part of my garden: daisies & veronica.

The last lovely peony...

This squirrel feeder gives the squirrels a place to snack and keeps them out of the bird feeder!

When the peonies fade, the hydrangeas come out to play!

A lovely surprise!

The lavender out front is blooming! Sweet!

Flower of the Day - Grosso Lavender

Today's flower of the day is Grosso Lavender. This is the most aromatic of all the lavenders which makes it perfect for sachets, dried bouquets and wands! This lavender grows great in poor, dry, rocky soil in full sun for lucky zones 5-9.

Happy Gardening!
