My Thoughts Turn to Gardening...

My thoughts have turned to gardening.

There have been hints of this...

...to get me excited to plant.

And moments of this...

that make me shiver!

Then a few days later...

quickly followed with more of this...

The snowy view outside my (work) office window last week.

This is the time of year when the weather is a big tease!

Which makes my thoughts turn to gardening even more!

Signs of Spring!



This is the time of year when I look for any, ANY sign of spring I can find. I have had enough of winter and its gray and beige color scape. I’m ready for the pale shades of green from new leaves, the bright and cheery yellow of daffodils and waking up to the sounds of birds chirping good morning.

While I did not find much or any of that this weekend, I did find some small signs of spring.

A robin hunting for worms

Hmmm...lunch?

Winter aconite in bloom.

Snowdrops about to bloom.

Tiny blue flowers...I don't know the name...anyone?

Signs of Spring in the Garden

I am already seeing signs of spring in my garden. I will admit that I have been out there everyday looking for it! I’ve been moving dry brown leaves around hunting for the bright fresh green of spring.

And…I found it!

 

Daffodils, how I missed you!

Delicate fronds of fennel!

 

Black hollyhocks!

 

Oregano in the giant herb pot!

Left over lettuce in the garden!

Radishes…oops…I forgot you in the fall!

I have missed you all!
