Cottage Style Party & Pumpkins in the Garden

I just love pumpkins tucked into a fall garden!
Take a walk with me to see my autumn garden...

No frost yet and these nasturtiums are still going strong.

I love this color play of white pumpkins next to lambs ear and the concrete birdbath.

This bunny was one of my WLYS finds.
I tucked it into the garden next to these just-begining-to-bloom mums.

More purple mums next to my purple zinnias and leaf-filled birdbath/kitty watering bowl.

Pumpkins tucked into yellow nasturtiums.

More pumpkins on my garden bench.

These nasturtiums just started to flower after a slow start.
I think the leaves are just as decorative as the flowers!

Did you do any fall decorating in your garden?

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this week's

Cottage Style Party

#116

Hello Friends!

As you can see it is pumpkin time in my garden!
As long as the frost holds off so will the flowers but fall is definitely here to stay.

It is almost time to winterize my garden and put away the lawn furniture, clay pots, and the garden decorations.

With a heavy heart I must admit I need to take a blog break.
It is my busy season at work which means lots of overtime and crazy hours. It is also the busy season at Etsy which means lots of listing and packing squeezed in to the crazy work hours.

That leaves no time for sleep nor for blogging.
I need to think about how I want to proceed with the Cottage Style Party and want some time for that.
Yes, between working and packing!

I hate to do this with the sparkle season(!) on the horizon and perhaps I will be able to squeeze in the occasional post but please don't count on that!
I said try now!

Until then…let's enjoy this pumpkin season!

How pretty is Jody's autumn inspired dining room?
Can you believe that stunning centerpiece?
And that Tuscan background on the wall?

Drop by Jody's blog Southern Seazons to see her lovely fall decorated buffet too!
And don't miss the fall decor in her dining room bathtub too!
LOL!

How cute are these pumpkins and gourds made from old books?
Such a simple but elegant idea for fall decorating!

Diane even used home made stems to make those gourds look so life like! Love it!
Visit her blog An Extraordinary Day to see all the details!

I just adore Brooke's burlap and lace runner!
So cute on her antique hall chest!

I love the display on top with the candle sticks and birds.
Drop by Brooke's blog Creative Country Mom to see the details and don't miss those darling burlap roses!

Cottage Style Party & Autumn Mantle

I freshened up my mantle for the first day of fall!

My usual mantle staples are still there: lamp, mirror, mercury glass, door way print.

Plus a few things I rotate around my home like the hurricane candle holder, letter A and the fruits for Etsy photos.

I added several old books with faded green covers with a pumpkin and apples from my Etsy photo stash.

This photo is one I took on the Oregon coast on a rainy day.
That's a color photo, btw!

This day of the dead print was by an artist who worked for me years ago.
It's a limited addition linoleum print signed & numbered by the artist.

This will be up through Halloween for sure!

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this week's

Here it is the first day of fall.
The signs were every where, leaves falling and cooler temps, but I was in denial!

Where did summer go?

I wasn't ready to let go yet!
Here's hoping for a long warm fall so my mind can catch up to the calendar!

Let's party...

Well, Miss Jane, you had me with the words "Wine Party"!
And this wine party is fabulous!

This wine party is being held in a wine cellar with decorations made with wine corks: a utensil box and wreath on the door! Visit Miss Jane at her blog to see all the details to throw your own wine party!

This is the prettiest setting for a little autumn tea party.
I love the scented candles, mismatched tea cups with saucers and that yummy looking cake!

Stop by Sherry's blog The Charm of Home to get the recipe.
I know I'll be making this Chunky Apple Walnut Cake with Caramel Glaze this weekend!
Yum

I love the attention to detail in Revi's industrial gallery wall!
And those old books on the cabinet are so fabulous!

This is just not another pretty display! This is a working display as Revi's mail slot drops her mail into the old drawer on top of the cabinet…look close! For all the details, drop by Revi's blog Revisionary Life.

Cottage Style Linky Party #14

I love seasonal decorating!

Love it!

I think during the spring and summer

the show is mostly outside in the garden.

But when fall rolls around I start thinking about bringing autumn into my home.

Just touches of autumn can make a difference.

Like a pumpkin under a dome on the table...

Hedge apples in a wire farm basket...

Or assorted tiny squashes in my berry basket....

I love a little hint of fall to greet me on my porch when I come home...

What do you love about decorating your cottage for fall?

Welcome to

Cottage Style Linky Party #14

It looks like quite a few of you are way ahead of me with fall decorating!

How cute is this pumpkin display from Tilly's Nest?

I couldn't believe how simple, yet elegant, she makes this look!

I think I am most thrilled about her use of a doily in this display!

Stop by An Extraordinary Day to see more of her "faux mantel"!

It's no secret that I love using drop cloths, but this drop cloth leaf garland is so adorable!

Visit Timeless Treasures for her creative use of drop cloths for fall decor!
