Flower of the Day - Be My Baby Mini Rose

Today’s flower of the day is Be My Baby Mini Rose. Perfectly named for a day before Valentine’s rose, this lovely mini rose has not-so-mini blooms! The medium large double flowers are in a deep, rich pink with a touch of sunny yellow at the base. It grows best in full sun to part shade for lucky zones 4-10.

Today's flower of the day is Valentine's Day Climbing Rose. Continuing with my theme of *love* and Valentine's Day, this rose is a stunner in deep red. A short climber, it grows only 6-10 feet. This gorgeous rose flowers from late spring to fall in full sun to part shade for lucky zones 4-10.

Christmas is for Kitties!

Here at the cottage Christmas morning starts with the kitties. They spent Christmas Eve night tearing little pieces of wrapping paper off their gifts. Thankfully they only tore into their gifts not the others! I think the catnip smell tipped them off.

Collecting: Old Glass Christmas Ornaments

I'm an indiscriminate collector of old Christmas ornaments. I love them ALL: mercury glass, clear glass, indents, shapes, stencils, feather tree, noisemakers, broken ones... all of them! Every summer I go to flea markets and yard sales looking for more to add to my collection. Since I can only display them about one month a year (that's just not right now, is it?) I spend an inordinate amount of time admiring them! So here is some of my collection, part 1:
