Not much is blooming in my late summer garden.
This is the time of year when I let the morning glories take over in my garden.

I planted Morning Glory beside the chicken run and it's just started to climb the fence. The cheery blooms are a nice touch this time of year. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteI love morning glory, mine bloomed a couple of months ago which is really early but our weather here has been so strange this year. I love the way it just climbs all over everything, it just looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had morning glories in ages. They are always so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love morning glories and in my husband's mass of gradens there is not a one. It was fun to see yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying gazing at yours. It was over a month ago that I was rushing out with my camera to take a pic of my first morning glory of the season. And fell. Which led to the ER, and then later that week, surgery on my ankle and the addition of pins and and a plate in it. I never did get a pic of that darned morning glory!

ReplyDeleteI have been following your (mis)adventures with your ankle. Oh my! I hope you are doing better and will soon be back in your garden.
I love them! But I don't know what I love more, the flower or the name of them:) Thanks for sharing, lovely pictures.

"Take over" is a good choice of words in our experience with Grandpa Ott... I love him but the seeding all about is more than my wife can handle... she has pulled thousands of seedlings over the past several years and he still shows up in the garden. We've not allowed one to bloom for several years as a result... I miss him as he is very beautiful and I do love morning glories... I just need to stick with sterile selections if there is such a thing... Larry
ReplyDeleteMorning glories are my husband's favorite flower during the summer months. Tulips are his favorite Spring flower.

ReplyDeleteI have morning glories on my arbor... so far only 1 flower!! This is a crazy year for me! Yours look beautiful...I've never heard of Grandpa Ott... always something new to learn! I think the flower of the morning glory is just gorgeous but they are a fussy plant- at least for me they are!
ReplyDeleteI know some gardeners love morning glory. i myself am consisitantly pulling out when i find it...it grows like a weed here in Seattle ~ usually a dull white color *your's is a beautiful purple! Thank you so much for linking up to the Garden Party yesterday! xoox, tracie
ReplyDeleteYour Morning Glories are lovely! We have had only a couple flowers on ours. The plants are gorgeous, but the flowers aren't keeping up with the rest of the plant. I'm hoping this cooler weather helps with that. In the meantime, I will enjoy the visions of yours!
