Cottage Style Party & Thrifting!

After laying around for four days with the flu I felt good enough to venture outside.

I only had a couple of vacation days left and I was itching to do some junking! I hopped in my car and drove into town to hit a not-so-local Goodwill and the Habitat for Humanity store next to it.

It was my first visit to a H4H store and I couldn't wait to see what was there.
It was salvage heaven!
Amidst the old furniture, fixtures, appliances, parts and pieces, I found some gems.

A great wire basket large enough for magazines:

A set of 3 ruby red French Arcoroc goblets:

A salvaged vintage 50's pink bathroom soap dish:

An old pie stand:

Milkglass vases:

A charming yellow basket:

A retro condiment set with teak handle:

At the Goodwill next door, I found these cobalt blue bowls:

and matching ice tea glasses:

Some holiday themed dessert plates:

A milkglass egg:

And a vintage globe on stand:

I was thrilled with my finds and will make the occasional drive to these exciting new thrifting stops. After about 2 hours I grew tired and went home for a flu nap.

I was happy to get out of the house for a short while.
And thrilled with my finds!

Anyone been thrifting lately?

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this weeks

Cottage Style Party!

So glad you enjoyed my Downton Abbey life!

Though I live in a small cottage, I have yet to find the staff's quarters.
It must be here some where!

Have you found your staff's quarters yet?

Let's see what everyone's been up to…

How gorgeous is Jann's winter kitchen?
Can you believe that chandelier?

Drop in to Have a daily Cup of Mrs Olson to see the wintery details of her kitchen. It will chase your winter "blues" away!

I love all the pretty soft furry-ness of this bedroom!
Doesn't it look all snugly and warm?

To see more of this cozy winter bedroom, stop by Tracie's blog Fishtail Cottage!
Hint: she even shares the link to find your own fluffy warm throw and pillows!

This is such a wonderful idea for a winter wreath!
I love the monogram and burlap and toile fabric.

Bop on over to kathy's blog A Delightsome Life to see her winter mantle update!
It is charming and rustic, warm and cozy, just go see it!

  5. Hello Deb - thanks for hosting the party! I love that plate rack! I have several and a few weeks ago hosted a handmade ornament exchange, and asked everyone to bring a plate of goodies (cookies, petit fours, brownies, fudge, etc.) The table was set up with all the plate racks and all one had to do was put their plate on an available spot! It was so much fun and we had quite a variety of goodies! Luckily, a lot of mine fold up for easy storage! Enjoy yours!

  6. so sweet of you to share Fishtail Cottage's fluffy post! hope you are having a great week - and get better! xoxo

  7. You found some great finds. I would love to find an old globe. I saw a project where a bowl was made from one hemisphere of the globe.

  9. Woo Hoo! Just what you need to feel better. Awesome finds! You need to show them at Thrifty Life Thursday...

  10. I love your finds. The milk glass is so pretty. Love the globe!

My mom sent my daughter some handmade hankerchiefs that my great-grandmother made, and my mother in law sent my daughter a children's book from the 1800s that belonged to her great-grandfather.

    1. I love finds with personal history the best! You are SO lucky!

  11. I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date! lol! And thank you, thank you for the feature! Such a nice surprise. So glad that you are feeling better! Now if you could only find those staff quarters. Looks like I'm the only staff around here. Hee-hee! Love all of your finds. I have a collection of that red glass which I love. Had to stop picking it up because my cabinet is full. Thanks also for linking to SYC.

  12. Drooling over all your great finds! Did you ever see what Elizabeth at Creative Breathing did with a vintage globe? If not check it out. I collect Sally Dick and Jane readers and keep saying 'One of these day... but then I'd have to find a place to display it...
Love the red glasses especially because I've been drooling over Victoria Christmas issues and wouldn't those glasses be perfect on a Christmas table?
So glad to be linking up again. I will be on the road today and tomorrow but Sunday is mine all mine and I plan to spend a chuck of it right here! Have a blessed week!

Thank you!
