Thanks everyone for all the nice comments about
my cottage office redo.
I know that I like my new work space,
but its nice to know that others like it too!
I had a some comments about my clock, chair and globe lamp.
Here's a pic of my chair right after I put it in my truck at
the Worlds Longest Yard Sale:
Yep, thats right, its in 2 pieces, actually 3 pieces.
The seller warned me about it coming apart and the
wheel that occasionally falls off.
But it was only $15!
So I oiled it with lemon oil because it was very dry,
then I put it back together.
Done!
When you sit in it all the pieces fall into place.
A steal of a deal!
The clock was also a WLYS find.
I bought from that vendor before as he has nice stuff and good prices.
I bought this on Friday which I think is the 2nd (official) day of the sale.
It was the last school house clock he had left.
He told me he had several the day before but as the hot
summer sun beat down on them, no one would touch the last, hot to touch one.
I'd say it was meant to be!
This old clock was originally wired but someone (not me)
reworked it to run off of a battery.
I love that I don't have to deal with a cord.
The globe lamp was made by me slowly.
Very slowly.
You know how some times you have a vision and
everything goes together quickly and smoothly?
Yeah, this was not that project.
Though it should have been.
Still, I love how it turned out!
You can see my trials in making this lamp here in my post:
Don't be afraid...

Hi Judith, Your office really did come together nicely. Love the lamp. I have a chair just like that and a desk that was once my fathers. My oldest sister recently passed it down to me. Great features. Thanks for the party.

I just love your wonderful old chair. My husband brought a similar one home recently from the bank where he worked. It needs some TLC and yours reminds me that it's in the garage waiting to be invited inside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and for sharing so many great features.
