Flower of the Day - Drumstick Allium

Today's flower of the day is a bulb, Drumstick Allium. Unless your ground is frozen (or snow covered!), it is not too late to plant spring flowering bulbs! Alliums add some excitement to spring gardens because of their unique round shape. Enjoy them in the garden, in fresh bouquets or as a dried flower year round. Drumstick Allium blooms in early summer in lucky zones 3-8.

Happy gardening!

  1. One of my favorite flowers for years, I found them in a nursery book when I was kid. Have planted them at every home yard I have had. Thanks for sharing. Richard from My Old Historic House.
