On Saturday I went to the annual Strawberry Festival in Shandon, Ohio.
Shandon is an old Welsh settlement dating to 1801 and has had many different names until one finally stuck.
Needless to say the old homes are quite lovely!

I'm not sure this is still a church as there was no sign out front.
Still you can tell it is an old building.
I think this is a B&B which had a small family (Dad & young son) band playing on the front porch!

As the sign states this was the 89th Strawberry Festival!
Lots of vendors lined the street.
As well as this grassy field.
I bought several items from this booth fresh from the vendors old barn!
I love this laundry basket but it was out of my price range.
Everything had potted flowers tucked in to it!
And right next door was the flowers.
Another vendor used a child's toy cabinet to stock homemade jams and jellies…so cute!
These antler racks take the weird prize for the day.
Notice the 'antler bits' in the basket lower left….ick!
I love these 2 painted white brick houses.
The smaller one would be perfect for me!

No day in the country would be complete without a tractor show!

This bubble gum pink one was my favorite!
These are wacky old machines were running, sort of.
The young girl is dropping corn cobs in to that machine which I think removes the corn from the cob.
(because what else would it do?)

The smaller one right in front kept making tut-tut-phffft farting sounds so I moved along lest anyone think it was me.
This was one of the antique stores in town.
I fell in L-O-V-E with this sink they called a garden sink!
The entrance porch was flanked by 2 huge old urns filled with flowers.
Inside this looks like an original fixture from the old store.
This old counter also looks original.
This was hanging in the secret garden next door.
Another vendor was selling charming old style bird houses.
On the way to the berries I passed this old historic cemetery…
which has RULES!
This is the old church which started the strawberry festival as a strawberry social 89 years ago.
I bought some home grown strawberries from this vendor.
YUM!
Here's the menu for the strawberries.
Everyone worked together to make the wait in line brief.
This is the works which has strawberries, shortcake and homemade ice cream.
I took a few bites before I realized I didn't show you a gratuitous strawberry shortcake pic.
And, yes, it was delish!
