Remember this chair from last winter?
It was a great find but I hated the yellow color and the cushions.
I vowed that when warm weather hit I would stain the chair to match my sofa.
Here's the chair with some espresso brown stain on it.
It's okay but I was having a hard time getting the stain to stick to the small vertical parts.
I remembered seeing gel stain at the store and went back for some after I went through a whole can of stain.
I thought it looked like chocolate pudding in the can AND on the chair.
Not the look I was going for.
I took the stain back because if I wanted a chocolate pudding painted chair, I would use actual pudding.
Chair ruined, I decided at this point my only option was to paint it.
Resigned, I went to Pinterest to see some options...
I love that green chair with animal print cushions but I already had some blue curtains I was going to remake in to cushion covers.
The other colors are fun but I needed something that would work with my summer blues and winter blacks.
So I test drove some white paint on the chair and sat back to let it settle in.
I decided I could live with boring white and went back to the store for a few more cans of white paint with primer mixed in - a necessity due to the dark stain and pudding.
In the end white was the best choice!
It's bright, cheerful and works with my new/old cushion covers!
Spray paint season is open!
Hello Friends!
Welcome to this weeks
Cottage Style Party!
#99
This photo is for Donna who missed my flower photos last week.
What?
You didn't think I read your comments?
Some times I even leave comments!
Once again it is raining outside and lightning chased me in.
No wind this week so I think I might not loose power.
But just in case, let's get this party started!
I just love these teacups with roses tucked in to them!
So pretty!
Drop by Liz's blog Rose Vignettes for her blog party Fresh Cut Friday for more wonderful flowers!
(because you just can't have enough flowers, right?)
This is the prettiest chicken coop I have ever seen!
It even has a rose covered arbor entrance!
And, yes, it has chickens and a bunny who enjoy this lovely setting.
Visit Tracie's blog Fishtail Cottage to see more of her lovely chicken coop area and don't miss her weekly Garden Party!
Hahaha…Donna!

I like the chair in white also. It looks clean and cheerful - not covered in pudding! :)
Yep, that pudding was weird. I'm not sure how/why they call it a stain!
DeleteI like the chair in white, but I might be a little biased as I repainted my kitchen chair in white some weeks ago...
ReplyDeleteHa…I did notice the white chairs! Perfect to play off those sea glass walls.
DeleteOh yes...white looks really good on this chair. CUTE pillow!
