Rita's cutting garden.
Rita is my neighbor two doors over.
She is a lovely elderly woman with
a daughter who likes to garden.
Her daughter plants this wonderful cutting garden every year.
Wikipedia defines a cutting garden as this:
"A functional garden used to grow flowers for indoor use. It is typically placed out of
public view and is not artistically arranged, as it contains flowers for cutting."
I think Rita's cutting garden is just as lovely
to look at as it is functional too.
Her rows of zinnias are volunteers that come
up every year...so nice!
I love how this garden path leads to a bed of daisies.
More volunteers!
I stopped by here early Sunday morning to enjoy her exuberant blooms!
Hummingbirds and butterflies were flitting about but
I, of course, was too slow to capture them with my camera.
Doh!
I love this bed of Shasta daisies!
So pretty!
I love the short wall that adds a bit of structure to her garden.
Her yellow native daylilies are still blooming!
I'm not sure what this rose is but
it was covered in lovely flowers!
There's even a little bench for Rita to sit on and enjoy her flowers.
I hope you enjoyed this visit to Rita's garden.
Sorry, no photos of Rita...she is camera shy!

Thank you sweet friend for the terrific party! I DIYed the cake stand and the cake, of course. The cake plate with pedestal I glued a lovely Italian blue platter with a small blue bowl I had for the pedestal and I found a better use for the blue plate. Big hugs,
