The daff report:
Still not blooming in this winter that just keeps going.
Yesterday it snowed.
I thought the weather report was an April Fool's joke until it really did snow.
Grrr...
A tiny bit of spring is showing in the far backyard:
Sadly, these are memorial daffs for my kitty who died a year ago.
I always plant flower bulbs where I bury my pets.
Sad, yes, but the bright yellow flowers make me smile
and remember my kitty.
Oh a happier note...
I found the below at the Goodwill this weekend:
A SWING!
And the best part was the price...
$20
Yep, that's right, $20.
It was half price day and I snagged it from the parking lot before the store opened.
Woohoo!
My mind is reeling with possibilities!
Definitely cushions and potted plants around the sides.
I already have a table for drinks and books.
Should I paint it?
The green is okay but I'm not crazy about it.
I like the canopy but not the color.
A new canopy in not affordable nor within my range of sewing skills.
Maybe if I painted it the canopy would look better?
What do you think?
Woot!
I'm so excited!
I'm posting a little early today as it is my parents
58th wedding anniversary
and we (my whole family) are going out to dinner with them!
58 years!
Woot...again!
Welcome to this weeks
Cottage Style Party!
It looks like everyone had a wonderful Easter
with lovely displays and table settings!
How cute is this woodland Easter basket?
I love the mossy bunny, the ferns tucked in here and there,
the burlap bow and pops of color!
Hop on over to Shannon's blog A Cozy Place Called Home to see the details on this basket.
I could see eating Easter dinner at this table!
I love the eggs under the cloche, the pretty floral dishes,
the pink glassware and that rose covered teapot is to die for!
Stop by Just A Little Southern Hospitality to see up close the detail on that sweet teapot!
This is the prettiest buffet I have ever seen!
I love its fresh coat of pale pink chalk paint and the trim is amazing!
Drop in to Bernideen's Tea Time Blog to see the details
of this buffet and the lovely display on top!
Thanks for stopping by!

What a wonderful way of remembering your pets, Deb. The daffs are so pretty - one of my favourite Easter flowers! Thanks for hosting too. Wow, 58th wedding anniversary... Congrats to your parents :) Greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
ReplyDeleteThanks Pernilla...your so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWe also remember our lost pets this way and find comfort in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! I think you should paint it. I actually like the canvas colour and think a black frame would help make it pop and look more up to date. Or if you like a more subtle look, a mid taupe would work nicely.
Wow! Love the daffodils ~ none here yet and how wonderful you honor your deceased pets that way ~ Lovely swing and bet it will be gorgeous ~ Beautiful post with lots of beautiful photos ~ thanks ^_^
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daffodils!! Thanks so much for featuring my blog post from last week. What an honor. Thank you for hosting the Cottage Style Linky party. It is so fun to find new ideas.

Daffodils are such a happy flower. I wish I had a garden in which to plant them.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I missed this post last week? I don't know what's up, but I didn't get the email I usually get, or maybe it went through my spam. I'm glad I came back to catch up on your garden and its new swing!
ReplyDeleteI missed the party last week. Will be by this week. Painting the swing a fun color might make it pop in the garden How about aqua or periwinkle blue? Great price. Glad you snagged it first! Thanks for linking to SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann

To late for the party but could not get over the swing. How great was that.
