Frequently when I shoot photos for my Etsy shop
I get a little carried away with the styling.
I end up with photos that feature cottage style
rather than photos that feature the item.
These also happen to be some of my favorite photos!
Like this one...
Is this about the crochet tablecloth or the suitcases?
Does it matter?
Not to me as I love this photo taken in my garden two summers ago.
The suitcases and tablecloth are long gone and are being enjoyed by someone else now.
But I still have this photo to remember them by!
Here's another one...
Is it about the wire cloche or the charming carrot plates?
I couldn't decide after I saw this photo and ended up selling them together.
I kinda wish I kept those carrot plates now!
Oh well, there is always more stuff to find.
Here's another goodie...
The first thing I thought of when I saw this handbag was market basket.
I loved staging it as a market basket.
I could just picture strolling through a French market,
picking up the days meal, then tucking it in this basket!
The tulips are from my spring garden, the bread from the grocery store and
the tomatoes are Granny Smith tomatoes from my garden the previous summer.
Yes, they are keepers!
Sometimes having a memory in a photo is almost as good as having the stuff.
I try to remember this when I am contemplating selling my items from my cottage.
Though it would be nice to keep it all, no?
Still can't part with this hat!
