World's Longest Yard Sale - Part 1 - Gorgeous Old Houses

Welcome to World's Longest Yard Sale, part 1 of 3, the gorgeous old houses!

The World's Longest Yard Sale, aka the 127 Corridor Sale, runs for 4 days on Highway 127. This "highway" runs from Alabama to Michigan, for 675 miles of the finest yard sales ever! It traverses through small towns and farm land, through scenic parks and past 1000's of yard sales.

My trip started in Seven Mile, Ohio and headed north past some lovely old homes. Here's some of my favorites...

The Heiland House was built in 1887 to replace the inn that burned down next door. It was designed and built by the wife of the innkeeper who died shortly after the fire.

A few photos of this lovely Victorian restored by the owners:

Their indoor kitty really wanted to be a part of the yard sale festivities!

I loved this old house for its simplicity and white fencing.

Loved the flowers decorating the porch of this Victorian. I could just imagine sitting there in the evening drinking iced tea and chatting with the neighbors strolling by.

A HUGE old sturdy brick farmhouse with 4 chimneys and double stacked porches inset into the middle of the home. It was one of two houses I saw built in this unique style.

Their barn was equally as large and inviting.

Another lovely old farmhouse with a nice big front porch.

This large and lovely, stately brick home in Eaton, Ohio has a maple in front whose leaves predict an early fall.

Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!

  2. What a great idea. I knew the WLYS was good for people watching but to be able to take (and share) the architecture... brilliant. Thank you.
