15 Hummingbird Favorite Flowers

Hummingbirds are attracted to the nectar of a blooming plant. While the color red catches their attention, other colored blooms, full of nectar, are also attractive to hummingbirds...and butterflies too!


This list is a mix of bushes and shrubs, perennials and annuals, all favored by hummingbirds.

    I find they are also attracted to the native cardinal flower here that has loads of small red trumpet shaped flowers.

    My first nasturtium is coming up from a seed I planted in a square foot/raised garden bed. Your nasturtium is pretty. All of the flowers in your photos are gorgeous! I'm trying to grow an organic garden. The tomato plants are doing great, but the square foot garden is quite slow with all the wind and chilly nights we've had. I'm your new follower and look forward to reading more about your organic gardening and flowers.
