Cottage Style Party & Signs of Spring

It only took one warm day for me to start yard work.

I missed it!

Seriously, yard work never really feels like work to me.
The warm sun and warm air, birds chirping…what's not to love?

I started by raking the leaves off my flower beds.
I was eager to see if anything was awake.

One of 2 giant leaf piles.
I have to empty the composter to fit these in.

Underneath the leaves look what I found!

Daffodils sneaking up!
This photo was taken a few days after the raking so they've greened up a bit.

Tulips too!

More tulips!
And early weeds in the background (no exclamation…boo, hiss).

More tulips with red striped leaves!

Inspired by my early spring garden, I hung a basket of pansies on my front porch.

I twirled the basket so you can see the yellow and purple flowers.

So pretty shivering in the cold wind that blew in Sunday.

These bring me hope for a flower filled spring and summer!

What are you doing to welcome spring at your cottage?

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this weeks

Cottage Style Party!

#87

On the warmer days I've been sneaking in some yard work in the evenings.
Pruning roses, raking leaves, picking up twigs, tossing some grass seed around.
It just feels good to be outside on the spring like days!
While cleaning up my front flower beds tonight, I discovered some tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and columbine coming up.
I can't wait till they bloom!

Anything coming up in your garden?

Let's see what you've been up to...

There's just something about bunnies that makes me think of spring. This tablescape is just filled with bunnies!

Hop on over to A Delightsome Life to see this spring table setting with bunnies, bunny-earred napkins, eggs, moss and some lovely spring dish ware!

This is the sweetest cottage style bed ever. With its new paint job it just looks so inviting! I just want to snuggle in and draw that quilt up over me.

Stop by Ash Tree Cottage to see more of Susan's sweet bedroom update and maybe she will let you snuggle in her lovely quilt!

Is there anything more quintessentially cottage than vintage linens hanging on a clothesline blowing in the breeze?
Yeah, I did't think so either!

These wonderfully colorful quilts were made by JoAnn at Scene Through My Eyes! Drop in to her blog to see details of these beauties!

  1. Hi Deb, I've been stuck inside with a terrible cold. Glad I got a lot of my Spring clean up done early. Just have a bit more to do. I love being out there also. It does wonders for the soul. I did buy some Spring plants to plant the urns on my front porch. Hopefully will get to it tomorrow. Thanks for hosting.
    hugs,
    Jann

  4. Oh my! We still have lots of snow on the ground. But....it's melting!!!!! Yay!! We're actually starting to see patches of grass. It'll be a while before we can do any playing in the yard. So...I might be a tad bit jealous of your time in the garden. ;) And your pansies....I die!!

Deb...just in case you missed it...I featured your hanging lamps last night at Project Inspire{d}. ;)

  7. Hello, Deb.....
I know what you mean..... I love doing yard work, too.
I love my gardens and my hubby takes great pains with the grass.
I take my dog for a walk around the garden(s) every morning..... and haven't seen anything yet.
I'm hoping by next week I see things peeking out.
    Always a great party.
    Thanks for hosting.
