In my head I pictured picking out my Christmas tree in the snow, surrounded by big puffy white flakes with holiday music playing.
That is not how it happened.
In pouring rain I quickly picked out my Christmas tree from the lot at Home Depot and had the guy toss it into the back of my truck.
Everything was soaking wet: me, the tree, the Home Depot guy, me again.
Everything was soaking wet: me, the tree, the Home Depot guy, me again.
It's a nice 8' Fraser fir with most of its needles still on it.
I said most, as after I finally stuffed it into the tree stand about a quarter of those needles were on the floor.
But its a nice smelling tree that only needs to be up for about 10 days.
(By then it will be a fire hazard...)
So here it is...
Oh, wait, let me put my contacts in....
That purple tree skirt looks a little better with the purple drapes framing it now!
No tree would be complete without a kitty under it.
(yes, those are needles on the tree skirt...like I said, 10 days...max!)
I also decorated my mantle with loads of lights.
My new favs are the color-changing faux pillar candles from a dollar store.
In daylight...
Those fab color-changing pillars, one is reflected in the antique mirror.
I also baked a few cookies last weekend.
Before you think I'm an over-achiever, I also took 3 naps.
Heh.
