With an eye on spring, flower of the day is back! Today’s flower of the day is one of my favorites, a coneflower, specifically, a Mt Hood Coneflower. This double-decker perennial has an explosion of petals coming out of the top as well as the bottom of this flower. And, yet, it is a demure creamy white explosion. This plant is a new introduction to the ever-expanding variety of coneflowers. It blooms mid to late summer for grow zones 3-9 and attracts beneficial bees and butterflies to your garden.
