Cottage Style Party #44

A mishmash this week...

This week I have a mishmash of things to chat about.

Why the mishmash?

Two reasons:

1)  I've been saving these stray photos for awhile and

wanted to post them but didn't have enough for an entire post.

and

2) I had a ladder in the middle of my kitchen all weekend and

couldn't even move let alone *think* about a cohesive blog post...gah!

Is anyone else like that?

I can only think when everything is in its place.

Yep, its weird, but its my little weird issue!

After moving the ladder to get in the frig, to use the oven to bake a pie for Mom,

to do the dishes and laundry, I was more than ready for that ladder to MOVE out of the kitchen.

Which it finally has...whew!

Moving on....

A couple of weeks ago when it was starting to warm up outside,

I cracked the back window and put a stool there for the kitties.

Someone really wanted to go outside!

Update: the kitties have been outside briefly tho no pics yet.

My veggie garden is coming along.

Tomatoes are planted.

Radishes and lettuce are just about ready to harvest.

Peas, in the pot upper left, are coming along.

Those are blueberries that look like sticks behind the tomatoes.

And my ornamental perennial leeks are huge!

Can't wait for their blooms!

That grassy stuff outside the bed is the reason I switched to a raised bed.

It's quakgrass and its a real pain to get rid of, but

I have plans for it this year...

The flower garden is moving ahead slowly.

Alliums, barberry and native daylilies.

The coral bells in my window boxes finally passed on to the eternal garden.

I've replaced them with a dark spike and orange million bells.

It should be pretty when it grows in, I hope!

I love that I can see the spike when I walk by the window inside.

Much better than looking in my neighbors sons window...yeesh!

My potted herbs in pots on the patio are looking ready to use!

From the top: oregano and chives, pineapple mint, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

Seriously, just like the song.

Not a song-theme planned pot of herbs, but it just worked out that way!

I'm still loving my free cottage fence in the flower garden.

So far, it looks just like how I pictured it would look.

Yes!

My weekend exhausted me and it looks like everyone else was busy too!

This was our biggest week yet with so many new cottage style friends!

Let's get to it...

This is a stunning container garden!

Everything about it is so lovely including the hanging basket!

This is just one of many adorable container gardens

you will find on Diane's blog An Extraordinary Day.

Go find some inspiration!

What a cute idea to use all those mismatched

china bargains you find at yard sales and thrift shops!

Stop by Helene's Legacy to get ideas to

make your own adorable cake stands!

Is anyone else feeling the need to kick back in this wicker swing?

Maybe stretch out, for a rest, snuggled under the quilt,

with one foot dangling over the side to push with?

Yeah, me too!

  9. I have definitely had those days - seems like it has been that way for me for a couple months - since I have been working an odd schedule covering for my co-worker. That SHOULD come to an end at the end of May - and I can devote more time to my blog, visiting and home projects. Love your kitty at the door - too sweet. The features are amazing -I'm really excited about the cake stands - I have dozens of mismatched dishes!
I appreciate you sharing and hosting,
    Kathy
